Frank Stirk

Michael began his writing music playing with a Christian band in Texas.  He has a degree in music and also graduated from Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley, California. Michael is now a pastor in St. Albert, Alberta, with his wife and three children.

Frank began writing lyrics for several artists in Winnipeg, Manitoba before partnering with Michael in 1986. Frank graduated from Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta, and is now a freelance journalist living in Vancouver, B.C., with his wife and two girls.

I have been Mike's lyricist consistently since we met in Winnipeg in 1986. When I first heard him perform his own original material, I was immediately drawn to his stylings. I loved his guitar playing and singing. I clearly remember telling Mike that I was a lyricist, and that when I asked him if he'd like to try writing some songs with me, he immediately agreed. As soon as we got down to it, I think we both knew that we were a good fit. We just knew it was God's will that we should write together.

The amazing thing too is that our partnership has continued - let alone flourished - even though I left Winnipeg less than a year and a half later. From then until now, Mike and I have always lived in different cities in western Canada. And yet the songs have kept on coming.

As often as possible, we try to get together at least once a year just to write and record. And each year, we just know that our songs are still getting better and better. We also know that our partnership is as rewarding - and as much fun for both of us - now as it was when we first got together. Maybe even more so, and as long as the Lord grants both of us life and inspiration, I foresee Mike and me continuing to write many more songs together to His glory.
